Certified organic products are inspected to verify that they contain no genetic engineering, irradiation or synthetic pesticides. Products labeled organic must contain at least 95% organic ingredients. Before a product can be labeled “organic,” a Government-accredited certifying agent must verify the farm practices used by the producer.
